On the Water

For lake enthusiasts Coldwater Country is a great way to spend a relaxing weekend on the water. Fishing, boating, skiing or kayaking is a great way to get out onto the water. Whether you own a boat or would like to rent one on our 2 chains of lakes, we have the experience you’re looking for.

  • Head to the North Chain of Lakes for a day of paddling on the 7 connected lakes. Narrows Resort has kayaks or canoes for rent. Enjoy a day paddling along the pristine natural shores.
  • Stop for lunch on the patio at the Willow’s Bar & Grill. Known for their burgers, soups and sweet potato fries. They also have a wide menu variety with daily specials.
  • Spend the afternoon paddling back up to the north watching the wildlife along the way.
  • Stop by Bill’s Grill House for dinner from steak & seafood to chicken wings and flatbread pizza.
  • In the evening you may want to catch a live performance at Tibbits Opera House.

  • Today is the South Chain of Lakes where you can put your boat in at one of the many launches or rent a pontoon at Coldwater Lake Marina.
  • Go swimming and splash around on one of the sand bars. Park along the Coldwater Lake State Park for a hike.
  • Meander through the chain and stop by Short’s on the Water for lunch and some handdipped ice cream.
  • Head up to Corn Island on Marble Lake for live weekend entertainment and even a petting zoo.
  • After returning the pontoon enjoy dinner next door at the Bent Prop, overlooking Coldwater Lake.
  • End your day with a memorable experience at the Capri Drive-In. Claiming the best buttered popcorn around. This family owned and operated business has been around for over 50 years and this season installed 2-dig ital H-D projectors for catching the latest released movies.

  • On your third day, stop by Narrows Resort to rent a pontoon. Fishing is the name of the game today. Both chain of lakes are known for their pan fish like blue gills, perch to bass and pike.
  • At the north end of Craig Lake, you may stop by the Waffle Farm camp store to grab some bait and ice cream.
  • Before you head home stop by JT’s Bar & Grille featuring locally smoked meats and house-made favorites.
