BJ from Colon is a magician, poet, and professional mischief maker based in Colon, Michigan,”The Magic Capital of the World.” He moved there from the Chicago suburbs as a culture-shocked fifth grader with a broken heart from a major life change and a love of magic that quickly became his lifeline. That love turned into a calling and eventually, a 30+ year career of bringing laughter, wonder, and just the right amount of joyful chaos to audiences across the country.
BJ has opened the world-famous Abbott’s Magic Get-Together for the past decade, made a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it appearance on NBC’s Today Show, and was recently named one of the top five emcees in the magic industry.
He’s also the author of My Unicorn Has Lost Its Horn and No Poems on Sunday, two laugh-out-loud books that claimed the #1 and #2 spots on Amazon’s Hot New Releases for Children’s Humorous Poetry in June 2025. His unicorn book even made it to #5 on the bestseller list—right behind 4 books by Shel Silverstein.
